Message Center Operator
🌐 Remote🏢 Amentum📍 New Providence📅 2 days agoAmentum is seeking a Message Center Operator to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas . AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. The Message Center Operator is responsible for maintaining strict accountability for Local Element CMS/EKMS and other associated classified materials, records, and equipment in the Communications Message Center. They will also be responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing incoming and outgoing Naval and civilian message traffic for the AUTEC project. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Responsibilities: Proficiency in loading classified material utilizing electronic devices and adherence to stringent COMSEC procedures. Monitor communications circuits during real-time test operations and initiates action to rectify circuit outages. Monitor all circuits for ACC when ACC is not staffed. Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate technical and management personnel. Maintain and establish radio and telephone communications as required including adherence to proper procedures and record keeping. Maintain a detailed daily official record of tasks/duties/events accomplished or observed in the Communications Message Center. Perform other duties as assigned, required or directed. Qualifications: High school graduate/equivalent or better. 3-5 years related experience working in a communications computer media environment. Military Message Center/EKMS experience desired and preferred. Ability to pass Message Center Communications Qualifications requirements within 60 days of hire. Maintain and sustain training and level of knowledge requirements in associated administrative and limited technical disciplines. Adapt to a rotating shift schedule (12-hour increments). Maintain a consistent high standard of professionalism with customers and coworkers. Able to follow a structured chain of command. Demonstration of consistently excellent customer service skills required. Occasionally lift/pull/push up to and including 40 pounds of office supplies. Frequently exposed to circuit noise and periodic alarms in the Message Center. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows 10 or later and MS Outlook. (Skill in Word, PowerPoint, Excel a plus) Consistently demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Essential Responsibilities : A diver will perform strictly limited âNo Decompressionâ dives at a depth no greater than 100 feet of seawater while utilizing open circuit SCUBA and associated diving equipment to recover, inspect, repair, install, and remove devices from USN marine vessels and structures. Operate and maintain the diving air systems per OSHA Diving Air Standards. Operate and maintain diving equipment (tanks, communications, regulators, mask, fins, etc.) as required to support diving operations. Operate forklift and overhead cranes per OSHA/NAVFAC standards. Operate and maintain underwater camera and video equipment. Operate and maintain the dive boat and associated support equipment. Perform ordnance/target handling, transporting, and recovery operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: 4 years related experience working in military diving or OSHA commercial Air Diving or related professional environment. High school diploma or GED required. Association of Commercial Diving Educators Certification or equivalent Military Certification. USN certified small boat handler or civilian equivalent. Familiar with SIMRAD GPS and transducer systems. Able to troubleshoot and repair small boat issues while underway. Must be able to obtain Certified NAVFAC forklift and overhead crane operator within six months of hire date. Working knowledge of USN documentation for technical systems and reporting. Able to build dive plans, calculate dive tables/repetitive dives, record dive profiles, and recognize unsafe working conditions. Must be able to be qualified as an Ordnance Team Member within six months of hiring date. Must be able to reside in austere work environment with limited to no medical facilities. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S government Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required Valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications : ADCI Supervisor preferred. OTS technician preferred. VIP inspector preferred. Certified Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation preferred. Certified NAVFAC forklift and overhead crane operator preferred. Certified Tractor Trailer operator preferred. Qualified underwater photography experience preferred. Working knowledge of USN documentation for technical systems and reporting preferred.
