About the role

For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as researching, analyzing and applying established best practices in media relations; working with the media and general public to communicate about an organization's mission and work; developing and executing communication strategies focused at reaching a specific audience; developing communications plans, messaging strategies, best practice guides or tools for training and awareness for employees and managers. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
